Zodiac Eggs

I completely forgot about this project that I did last year... I didn't even get around to documenting it.
Which is unfortunate because it's probably the only installation I will ever create.
I included some sketches here of my planning for what the installation looked like; the 12 eggs hung at an angle in a circle.
I used a hula-hoop that was hanging from the ceiling to display the eggs, so the shape was perfect for you to stand inside the egg circle, it was pretty cool.

The idea is pretty self-explanatory.
The theme I was going for was "origins"
With the eggs symbolizing birth/origin, the zodiac representing birthdays which relates to your personal place and time of origin in the universe. The stars were the major origin theme though, and using the constellations..It was a comparison of how, scientifically, we originate from stars. Historically, stories of origin were told by pictures depicted in the stars.

Each egg constellation was in the exact place that it would be located in space; when you stand in the center, you're Earth.
It was fun to work on this, but unfortunately I will probably never get the opportunity to hang this installation up again.
I got it all set up for my presentation, and it was perfect, and I can't believe I didn't take any photos of it, I'm so crazy. xc
